Don’t laugh, but I’ve been playing a ton of pickleball.
Like all my hobbies, I dive in and dive deep. I’m learning a few lessons for life and business from pickleball. It has to do with control. I am a type A, Enneagram 1 control junkie. I hate the unexpected with the burning passion of a hundred suns.
Paradoxically, I’m learning that to be good at pickleball, I have to release control. The possessiveness I feel for the point is the opposite of attentiveness that frees and transforms my skills.
When I play like it’s my play, I actually score more points.
Creativity is no different! Oscar Wilde said, “Some things are too important to be taken seriously.” I love that. Let’s lower the stakes today and go out there with our cameras and just have fun.
This session was a blast. These people were my play.
